Program Description
Old and new ways of the Plains peoples includes moving museum of full-size tipi, beadwork, quillwork, clothing, buffalo stomach cooking pot, tipi 'furniture,' shields, weapons, etc., music and dance (depending upon number of students). Aligns with NYS arts anchor standards 11. Specifically connects with visual art enduring understanding and essential questions. 2.3, 6.1, and 11.1 Learn how Plains Indians hunted buffalo, used its parts for food, clothing, shelter living in ecological balance with buffalo, used artistic expression in all aspects of life and keep their culture alive today. Aligns with NYS CR-S Framework by affirming cultural differences among groups as an asset and encouraging all students to connect with cultural voices different than their own. Price includes video resources and live/virtual performance.
