Program Description
Students are treated to the thrilling sound and spectacle of the bagpipes played by a piper in full kilt! Stories are shared about the pipes' history and mythology in Ireland and Scotland and the different types of traditional bagpipe music and attire are explained and demonstrated. Students learn how the bagpipes work, and other traditional Irish instruments are demonstrated: flute, tin whistle, bodhran (drum) and spoons. The virtual format includes live demonstration and multi-media (photos and videos). Viewers can post questions which are answered by the presenter.
