Program Description
As an addiction research scientist for nearly 40 years, I developed an age-appropriate scientific presentation concerning the science of addiction. I present current research findings as they relate to the causes of addiction and the reasons the disease progresses. Specifically, I address internet (Fortnite and Minecraft) addiction, vaping, and the vast number of drugs and behaviors associated with this disease. I will include recent data integrating COVID-19 into the disease. Data are presented from adolescents currently suffering from this disease and from those in recovery. I will answer any questions concerning all different kinds of addiction.
