Scientists use specialized tools to study materials at the nanoscale. The scanning probe microscope (SPM) is one tool that allows scientists at Brookhaven Lab’s Center for Functional Nanomaterials to “see” materials at the nanoscale. Students will simulate a SPM to gather data and map the surface topography to identify a mystery material. **AGREEMENT TO TERMS needs to be signed by an authorized District representative and on file to process any Contract requests submitted to AIE. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS, REQUESTS WILL BE CANCELLED WITHOUT AGREEMENT TO TERMS ON FILE WITH AIE. **The Technical Services Agreement needs to be made available to teachers who participate in BNL programs.
