Program Description
Introduce young students to the world of ceramics in this two day program. Each student creates a coil pot, learn about ceramics created in many different cultures, watch demonstrations by the presenter on an actual potters wheel and create one group project together that can be displayed in their school. This workshop encompasses two days of learning usually the entire selected grade at their school . Students learn how to create art with clay, work cooperatively and create lifetime memories. Gina Mars is known for her workshops in clay for over 30 years. Workshop includes tools and glazes. Clay is purchased by the school district with the assistance of the presenter and each school must have a kiln and knowledge of how to fire the student work produced in the workshop.
