Join a DINOSAURS ROCK expert for this geological journey, exploring the world of Rocks & Minerals, complete with real museum quality specimens as the backdrop. Students take home REAL minerals if in person and we ship out real minerals and gemstones for each student to keep if virtual! We'll cover Rocks & Minerals and Geology via on-line demos, screen shares, and expansive exhibits of Amethyst, Quartz, Giant Geodes, Quartz, Pyrite, Emerald, Citrine and more... Students will learn about Rocks & Mineral as vital resources in our everyday lives, how Gemstones form, the origin of volcanic crystal-filled geodes (with a visual demo of splitting a REAL geode), plate tectonics (depending on grade) covering the large-scale dynamic forces that affect earth's land, water and atmospheric systems, weathering and erosion. Customized to meet teacher needs and grade level. Other classroom activities such as crack-your-own Geodes available. Web site links to Study Guide and Mineral ID chart provided.
