Mathnasium can come to your school and turn math into an exciting, hands-on learning experience through a Math Fair designed to support STEAM learning and align with New York State Arts in Education Standards. We run a full-day interactive math fair complete with engaging games, all materials, and four trained background-checked Mathnasium staff members to facilitate the event. Your school simply provides additional volunteers to assist at activity stations—we fully prepare and guide volunteers so the experience runs smoothly. Our activities are designed for students in grades K–8 and incorporate elements of creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world connections, supporting the NYS Arts standards focus on Creating, Responding, and Connecting. The event begins with an energizing introduction showing students how math is everywhere in the world around them—including in art, design, patterns, architecture, and everyday problem-solving. We include fun math trivia and interactive demonstrations that encourage students to observe, question, and respond, reflecting the Responding strand of the Arts Learning Standards. Students are then divided into groups and rotate through 5–10 interactive stations, depending on how much time your school has scheduled. At each station, students actively explore mathematical concepts through hands-on games, puzzles, visual patterns, and collaborative challenges, supporting the Creating and Producing aspects of the standards while encouraging creative thinking and teamwork. Throughout the event, students make connections between math, visual patterns, spatial reasoning, and creative problem solving, reinforcing the Connecting strand of the NYS Arts in Education Standards and demonstrating how math supports artistic and design thinking across disciplines. We can host the Math Fair for part of the day or a full day, making it a perfect addition to STEAM Week, enrichment days, arts integration programs, or school-wide learning events.
