Flamenco Workshop/dance classes provides students with a hands on opportunity to experience the techniques of the playing of castanets, footwork, palmas (rhythmic hand clapping) braceo, (arm and hand movements) & choreography. A short introduction to the techniques, links them to the various cultures that came together to produce the art form as well as the Spanish language & culture. A short choreography is learned during the workshop which can be used for performance either by students at a later time or in conjunction with a Sol y Sombra performance program on stage with performers.
Latin Dance Workshops/Residency - Students learn basic steps for Merengue, Bacchata, Cha Cha, Samba and Salsa as well as fun turn combinations! Workshop can focus on one dance style or a smattering of all.
Initial class is $235 with subsequent classes on same day $95. If travel time exceeds 1 1/2 hour to venue, two programs on the same day may be required.
