Program Description
This program acquaints the student with the Latin/Hispanic culture and the Spanish Language through the exciting international Hispanic art of Flamenco music & dance. The program focuses on the many cultures that came together to produce the Hispanic culture and language (the Roman, Greek, Celtic, Arabic, African, Jewish, Indian & Native American people). Program also seeks to acquaint the student with how music and dance can allow for the expression of human emotions, and how they too can use dance and movement to communicate. Program includes live Flamenco guitarist, singer, & dancers; an explanation of the techniques of guitar and castanet playing, foot work and rhythmic hand clapping. with interactive audience participation throughout. The program culminates with students learning some Rumba Flamenca on stage with with performers. This program can be tailored to all student levels and time period needs. Subsequent shows on same day are 1/2 price. Travel time over 1 1/2 hours to venue may necessitate 2 programs on the same day.
