Using his new National Geographic book "Dirtmeister's Nitty Gritty Planet Earth" as a guide, award winning author Steve 'The Dirtmeister' Tomecek introduces students to the non-fiction writing process.
During the presentation, Steve introduces students to the various elements found in a nonfiction book and also explains how nonfiction writers develop their topics and conduct accurate research. With student assistance, The Dirtmeister conducts some dynamic demonstrations to show how to dig deep into a nonfiction topic and students discover how they can create their own fact-based books about every day topics.
