Personal Theme Discovery and Spontaneous Art Making

Programs are highly participatory, and various drawing, painting and mix media techniques will be introduced with an emphasis on self-expression and applied intervention. Student’s symbolism and personal language/imagery will be explored as a means of communication and utilized to promote personal growth and wellbeing. These processes will also be an exploration of the social connection between one another and the community. As a professional fine artist and art therapist, AnnCharlotte Tavolacci will incorporate knowledge and skills about art materials, share personal confessional fine art practices and facilitate discussion in a friendly, affirming and positive manner. Students will verbalize the personal content behind their symbolism and relate to others by doing so. The experience of this workshop will allow a bridge between the head and the heart of art-making practices. Art making will be used to sublimate the content into a contained finished product, relating artistic ideas with personal meaning and external context. The Program can be done independently as one single program or connected in an arrangement into multiple programs creating a broader workshop or residency.
