Program Description
Amino acids are the essential building blocks of proteins. At Brookhaven National Laboratory, scientists use specialized tools such as the National Synchrotron Light Source II to better understand and study proteins. This type of research can inform a range of applications such as viral infection mechanisms, improving drug design, and developing more efficient catalysts. During this program, students explore the fundamentals of structural biology and accelerator science, learn about related Brookhaven research, and construct amino acid models. **AGREEMENT TO TERMS needs to be signed by an authorized District representative and on file to process any Contract requests submitted to AIE. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS, REQUESTS WILL BE CANCELLED WITHOUT AGREEMENT TO TERMS ON FILE WITH AIE. **The Technical Services Agreement needs to be made available to teachers who participate in BNL programs.
