Program Description
Your students will absolutely love The Space Roadshow. It's an engaging in-school astronomy program given by astronomy teacher Lee Ognibene, retired Sayville Planetarium Director. (1998 Suffolk County Science Teacher of the Year) I use many working models, a video projector and quality sound system to take your students on video field trips around the world and into space. This fantastic voyage into space will teach your students the wonders of astronomy while satisfying the NYS astronomy curriculum. Your students will learn about motions of the earth and moon, what causes day and night, orbital mechanics, weightlessness, eclipses, lunar phases, telescopes, the solar system, comets, meteors, the sun, our moon, how craters form, galaxies, our planets, how big space is, the birth and death of stars, constellations, gravity, how rockets work, and our place in space. Expect rave reviews! The finale will leave you breathless! Your kids will LOVE it!
