SUMMARY: Students will begin their exploration with a demonstration of the difference between physical and chemical reactions. This is followed by a display of chemical magic whereby we turn water into wine… and back! The class will be dazzled when they watch Styrofoam™ reduced to a puddle of goo, and see camphor provide the chemical equivalent of an outboard motor—all chemistry in motion. Sure, chemistry can produce some great tricks, but it’s also very useful. Students will apply their knowledge of chemical processes to make their own soda pop, “magic mud“ and even beautiful crystal gardens! ** Every student takes home a "Mad Science Dynamic Dish" ** EDUCATIONAL VALUE: Besides exploring and explaining a variety of chemical processes and phenomena, Che-Mystery introduces students to this exciting, vital science—its importance in our daily lives, and its role behind the scenes in many everyday and not-so-everyday phenomena!
