Program Description
Author-artist,Education Coordinator, Joyce Raimondo, guides students through Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner's home and studio - a national landmark in East Hampton. Discover creative ways Pollock and Krasner expressed their feelings with paint. Discuss the art displayed in their home, and explore the barn studio filled with paint splatters -- evidence of their masterpieces. Joyce will demonstrate how you can drip paint to express your feelings in art — live on the virtual platform of your choice. We encourage Cultural Responsive Learning: Pollock and Krasner are an embodiment of the American Dream - from humble beginnings - the bridge to their success was access to education. As painters, they challenged tradition and created a groundbreaking art that celebrated the American Democratic ideal of free expression and individualism. 100% interactive, this trip helps students of all ages discover diverse ways of thinking, looking, and expressing themselves while respecting the views of others. Professional development workshops and in person trips are also offered. Virtual program can include tour only, or tour and drip painting.
