Program Description
During our VIRTUAL “SAFE AT HOME/SAFE ALONE” children will learn about self-care. This content is in preparation for when the family decides a child is ready to stay home alone. This is always a family decision and depends on many factors but this program is a great starting point for youth and their families. This program includes a digital Youth Book and Parent Guide. The Youth Book is filled with real life situations that could occur when home alone, along with information on life skills that enable a child to cope with these situations. The Parent Guide helps parents learn dynamics of a strong family, how to take safety precautions in the home and how to cope with emergency issues like fire, strangers, bad weather, and medical problems. It also helps parents learn how to help their child cope with emotional issues like dealing with boredom and dealing with peer pressure.
