Can your students successfully recruit Rebecca Brewster, innkeeper of the Brewster House in 1778, to join the Culper Spy Ring during the American Revolution? As a group, we imagine becoming members of the Culper Spy Ring tasked with this mission by General George Washington, himself! This on-site program in the authentic Brewster House (built in 1665) promotes critical thinking, team work and dialogue. After all, like many colonists at the time, Rebecca has mixed feelings about whether to rebel against the Crown or to stay loyal. Can your students convince her? Putting their own skills to the test, students will undergo a full exploration of the Brewster House (c. 1665) in search of clues and secret messages!
