Program Description
Grand Prompts to Ask Your Grands are conversation starters with a themed prompt and expanded questions. The prompts are meant to facilitate conversation and create a story from a memory. So much family history and personal stories are gleaned beyond a photograph. Understanding between the generations is realized through sharing oral storytelling. The workshop presents the basics of conversation and includes active listening markers and the use of salient questions. The class is guided through a conversation and how to write the memory. Students journal the story the way they heard it, and share and compare their stories.
