Program Description
Thinking critically isn’t easy. We humans frequently make unwarranted assumptions, jump to unwarranted conclusions, and think we know what’s going on when, often times, we haven’t a clue. In this mind-opening program, conjuror and science-buff Allan Kronzek demonstrates the countless ways we can be mistaken and why—if we’re looking for true answers as to how the world works—the scientific method is the best method yet devised from separating fact from fiction. Among the core science concepts examined are: forming hypotheses, testing explanations, developing skepticism, and distinguishing between a scientific and non-scientific world view. The program features entertaining audience participation and student brainstorming. A perfect adjunct to science fairs, or any grade where an understanding of scientific method and critical thinking is central.
