Program Description
AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 2023-JUNE 2024 **This virtual performance is live-streamed.** One of America‘s most acclaimed storytellers, Gerald Fierst, has several storytelling programs to offer. Please see some of what he has to offer below: Tales From Around the World: Laughter, drama, participation, and surprises from a multi-cultural world. Designed for elementary school audiences, a collection of folklore, literature, and original materials which stress that all of us have stories to tell. The American Spirit: Eyewitness accounts of the men and women who shaped our nation in a dynamic mix of storytelling and theater. Experience the pageant of American history through folklore and historical events involving George Washington, Sojourner Truth, the Wright Brothers, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King and more. Jewish Programs for All Ages: For five thousand years, the Jewish people have used stories to worship, to teach, to share joy and sorrow. Experience the traditions, drama, and history of the Jewish people through the words and images of one of America’s foremost storytellers. Special holiday and synagogue programs available. Spooks & Ghosts: Everyone loves a tale that curls your hair and sends chills up your spine. Hear a master storyteller tell classic tales of the supernatural, modern stories of other consciousness, and true tales of the inexplicable. In both casting practices and subject matter, Pushcart Players provides a welcoming and affirming environment. Teaching artists and performers reflect the diversity of our constituents, providing identification and a natural significance to these young learners. Subject matter addresses a broad range of inclusive curriculum: history, literature, world-culture, social emotional learning, values clarification, civics, anti-racism, and anti-bullying. With all in-person performances, assessment occurs with a post-production question and answer session.
