Program Description
In order to create a positive, musical experience for all students at a time when in-school performances may be impossible or limited, all of the Homegrown String Band’s programs are available in a virtual format via Zoom. The descriptions for these programs: Homegrown String Band: the Roots of American Music; An Unbroken Circle: Traditional Music in Popular Culture; the Anthology of American Folk Music; and The Song Catchers can be read on their individual program listing pages. Students can access the virtual programs in their homes or in the classroom. The Homegrown String Band is a twenty-first-century incarnation of the traditional family band, proudly carrying on the tradition of making a joyful sound & sharing it with friends & neighbors. All virtual shows will feature the complete three-piece band. Songs selected based on grade level.
