John Collins is The Paper Airplane Guy, keynote speaker, author, and world record holder for paper airplane distance. A visually stunning, entertaining, and engaging presentation full of information exploring science using the wonder of paper airplanes in a welcoming and affirming environment. Demonstrates aerodynamic principles: Lift, Drag, Gravity, Wing Loading, Control Surfaces, Dihedral Angle, Theories of Lift, Stalls, Slope Soaring, Canard Design, Scale Effects, Glide Ratio, Sink Rate, and the secret of the world record airplane. Twenty-four original designs provide proof for theories, plus a lot of fun for students. Real aerodynamics instruction teaching the physics of flight with paper airplanes with 30 minutes of live instructional demonstrations, and 15 minutes of hands-on paper airplane making promoting student leadership opportunites. Planes streak across the room, glide, tumble, flap their wings, circle back, flip over and fly upside down. Older students learn how to fold the world-record airplane.
