Immersive cultural experience ideal to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month all year long! Assembly Style, bilingual Author visit and reading of International Latino Book Award Winning title: My Little One in Full Moon, Mi chiquitica en luna llena (Poetic narrative that presents the topics of cultural identity, self-acceptance and family traditions), or Let’s Get Up and Dance, a fun and exciting narrative that highlights merengue music, the sense of belonging that comes from building community and the joy of music and dancing. The rhymes and beautiful pictures of the children’s book immerses the children into the beauty of poetry and the Spanish language. Ideal way of connecting with young ELL, bilingual students, Afro-Latinx, and their families. Presentation includes interactive dance and movement activity, learning about guaguanco (salsa) rhythm and merengue. Q&A session for older groups (if time allows).
