Assembly Style- In Person Bilingual Author visit and reading of International Latino Book Award Winning title: My Little One in Full Moon, Mi chiquitica en luna llena. Poetic narrative that presents the topics of cultural identity, self-acceptance and family traditions. The rhymes and beautiful pictures of the children’s book immerse the audience into the beauty of poetry and the Spanish language. Ideal way of connecting with young ELL, bilingual students, Afro-Latinx, and their families. Presentation closes exploring the guaguanco (salsa) rhythm with the students and a Q&A session.
* Presentation includes 10 copies of author's bilingual book My Little One in Full Moon. Book includes discussion questions, glossary and other creative activities that invite the readers to see themselves through the eyes of Mi Chiquitica. Assembly can be adapted for students from K-5th grade. 60 students max. per presentation.
