Program Description
The Character and Leadership in JROTC workshop is designed to help cadets reflect on how their experiences in JROTC can shape them into leaders of integrity and service. Participants are guided to recognize that their time in JROTC is not only about military discipline and training, but also about cultivating values and skills that will equip them to make a lasting, positive contribution to society. Facilitated by Empower 1 Self, Inc., this program serves as a supplemental resource to the JROTC curriculum. Grounded in research-based approaches to character education and leadership development, the workshop provides cadets with opportunities to actively engage in meaningful dialogue and structured activities. Through these exercises, cadets strengthen their ability to apply leadership attributes to complex, real-world challenges, practice ethical decision-making, and develop strategies for building strong teams. By emphasizing character, responsibility, and resilience, the program supports cadets in becoming leaders who inspire trust, foster collaboration, and uphold the highest standards of personal and civic responsibility.
