Program Description
Virtual Circles Training: A Restorative Approach--Long Island Dispute Resolution Centers is offering Circles Training (Restorative Practices) in a virtual format. This format allows for multiple practice sessions where the students can apply Restorative skills learned in their training to school related issues. Feedback will be provided in a nurturing environment that foster growth and skill development. Multimedia examples will be provided throughout the entire training and mindfulness techniques will be incorporated as a support mechanism for the students participating. Restorative Practices Circles training is a proactive intervention strategy. The practice of Circles is helpful for building and maintaining a healthy community where all members feel connected, respected and heard. The circle process can accommodate a varied number of individuals including an entire class. By utilization of the circle process students will: Build Stronger relationships Create an environment that honors trust and nurturing Foster a sense of community Formulate a decision-making process that is inclusive Craft agreements that benefit all Help resolve difficulties through inclusion and respect Increase Social emotional learning
