Program Description
Celebrate Earth Day everyday and make environmental education artistic fun. During dynamic interactive art show assemblies, students discover how famous artists from Picasso, Calder and others turned throwaway things into masterpieces. Students then create whimsical robots from 100% recycled stuff they have at home. The Imagine That! team is directed by acclaimed artist-author-educator Joyce Raimondo. Based on Raimondo's book "What's the Big Idea?" Cultural responsiveness: Our approach teaches students how to express personal opinions about what they see in diverse art and to respect the differing view points of their classmates. Fostering open ended thinking, we encourage debate and discussion through respectful speaking and listening to each other. The art discussed is exemplary of diverse backgrounds and approaches to creativity. Programs are geared to all ages and abilities.
