Program Description
Mr. Lucero’s anti-bullying presentation supports the NYSED Culturally Responsive Sustaining Education Framework. His presentation is available in both Spanish and English for students, parents, teachers, and administrators. During his multimedia presentation he shares his personal immigration story, the tragic loss of his brother due to a hate crime in 2008 and his years as a community activist to foster intercultural dialogue. Mr. Lucero is a partner with Plural Plus international youth film festival initiated by the United Nations of Alliance of Civilization and uses these digital narratives and other documentaries to support his message that everyone needs to be treated with dignity and respect. Through his presentations he encourages students to embrace diversity and inspires them to become agents of change.  Included in the presentation, Mr. Lucero offers a space to address current events affecting our society. This presentation is offered in person and through Zoom.
