Program Description
The My Little Eye Wellness Program creatively connects story with wellness. This empowering program teaches children how to grow with purpose through story, imagination, meditation, yoga and more. Local author, Lauren Matovic, will share her children's book, “My Little Eye”, and guide children through a mini meditation and yoga sequence connected to her story. In this half hour workshop students will be inspired and encouraged to get curious and use their imaginations both on and off the mat. Through story children are encouraged to be curious and stimulate their imaginations. Through wellness, specifically mediation and yoga, children are guided to be in-the-moment, find stillness, connect with themselves and their bodies, and discover self-awareness. Goals: Increase interest in literature/story, not devices. Student engagement in activities with self and others. Healthy wellness habits learned early in life. Increase attention/focus. Compassion for self and others. Increase in confidence. Ms. Matovic is the self-published children’s author of “My Little Eye”. She has presented her children’s book in various settings, mostly in schools through the Boces Arts in Education program. Ms. Matovic also studied in the field of Psychology, having received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and her Masters in Forensic Psychology.
