Program Description
This program will affirm the creative spirit in students through a professional student art exhibit. My program offers the following: Preparatory work, set up of the exhibit, breakdown of the exhibit and return of the student art for delivery to the students. Rate is for an exhibit with 70-90 pieces of art. Rate is negotiable if amount of art is less than 60 pieces. The exhibit can be on-site at the school or another location selected by the school. The school provides tables, easels (full and table size dependent on need) and a location for the exhibit. I provide the labor, fabric and other required display materials such as boxes and frames for art labels. At least one month prior to the exhibit, I provide a consultation on-site that includes: discussion of location, amount and type of art to be exhibited, theme (if any), purpose and date/times of exhibit, ideas for marketing and promotion - including fundraising options, timeline for preparation, set up, breakdown and dismantling of work. Two to six weeks prior to the exhibit I mat and/or frame all two dimensional work. School provides all content to be used for labeling each piece (can be matted or displayed in 3" x 5" plastic frames which I provide). Matting and framing takes 8 to 12 hours on-site. (If school does not have frames or mat board, I will purchase materials needed, using a predetermined budget, and am compensated for purchases made or add $200 to rate and I will purchase mats and frames which become property of the school after the exhibit). On day of exhibit I set up all work on tables and easels. Tables are covered in fabric and work is displayed to compliment subject matter and styles of work. Each piece is labeled that includes Title of piece (if available), artist name and grade level. Average time needed for set up is three hours. When exhibit is over, I breakdown all art and materials used. Art is returned to a designated space for storage. I will return within a week to dismantle all art from frames and mats. Average time for dismantling art is 4 to 5 hours, depending on number of pieces. I use extreme care when handling art to ensure minimal to no damage to the art. I do not use staples to attach work to mats. Double sided or masking tape is used to present a clean professional appearance. Other accommodations can be considered during the consultation meeting to meet the specific needs of the school, if other styles of presentation are requested.
