Program Description
This is a 30-minute class option that can be added to "Pick Your Own Field Trip: Animal Experience, Wagon Ride and Your Choice". There is a minimum of 10 students. Insects: Students will explore the amazing world of insects including body structure, insect lifestyles, habitats, adaptations and the role insects play as pollinators and decomposers. Learn specific characteristics that entomologists use to identify insects and the role metamorphosis plays in the life cycle of an insect. A special insect guest accompanies this presentation! (Educational content similar to Butterfly Discovery) Animal Experience and Wagon Ride: Students will also learn about the variety of animals that reside at the Suffolk County Farm while getting hands-on experience touching and feeding. The wagon ride is a fun and educational way for students to observe a real working farm by viewing the crops we plant and the equipment we use.
