Program Description
Diversity Circus uses audience participation, comedy, kooky characters, costumes, magical illusions, and non-stop hysterical action to engage students in a welcoming and affirming environment. A lion, a mouse, and a giant chicken teach the lessons led by Smudgy the Clown and the ringmaster sidekick. Students identify with Smudgy as comic relief during this four-act circus. On-stage participation encourages student leadership opportunities. One student becomes the World’s Strongest Kid, another partially invisible! Two more magically transform while dressed up and acting on stage. Your entire school will be laughing so much, your students won’t realize they’re learning a powerful social-emotional learning message. “Be Fair, Be Aware, include others, and use Respect” are four lessons students will learn during Diversity Circus. This proven-effective program also covers: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s character message, Cultural Diversity, Diversity in the Classroom, Being Fair, and more. It’s perfect to honor the MLK Holiday, Black History Month, and to support your PBIS program and anti-bullying efforts. Please contact us for date availability. Diversity Circus is also a Graphic Novel available for $5/book.
