Write It / Rewrite it! (writing workshop/residency)

A powerful writing workshop. Students unlock creativity, learn story structure, and get a taste of editing and revision. This dynamic program can be a single or multiple day residency. The WRITE IT day begins with a 45 minute assembly, which engages through storytelling, students and teaches the basics. Mark then works with students in classrooms, libraries or smaller 45-60 minute assemblies as a teacher and coach while every student starts… and perhaps completes… a first draft. Students will learn how to unlock their creativity – and learn how to shape stories, whether fiction or non-fiction narrative. The REWRITE IT editing workshop is an optional follow-up workshop, usually scheduled a week later. This workshop guides students through the process of revision and editing. It has a similar assembly/classroom visit structure. Mark Binder is the award-winning author of more than two-dozen books and audiobooks, including The Bed Time Story Book, Cinderella Spinderella, It Ate My Sister and more.
