Program Description
Experience Native American art and culture! Students create a Native talking stick using natural materials that tell a personal story and teach respect for one another. Participants utilize wood, feathers, beads and pigment for their creation. The Talking Stick is a ceremonial object that is used in a group meeting as a way of communicating to one another with respect and kindness. If a Chief or tribal member wanted to talk, they would hold the Talking Stick up so others would know to listen carefully until passed to the next speaker. A great classroom teaching tool for all ages!
