Program Description
Your students enjoy both fiction and non-fiction stories about rattlesnakes and their rattles! Storyteller/author Valerie Marsh tells her story “How Rattlesnake Got His Rattle” using envelope puppets. Valerie invites your students to draw either a snake or rabbit outline on their envelope. Students put a few paper clips in their envelope and we retell the story together. The retelling of this story with your students is hilarious! So many rattlesnakes rattling at once! Next, watch your students turn into snakes and 'shed' their skin! We share some cool snake facts about how snakes grow. Your students will 'molt' by becoming snakes and climbing into paper lawn bags or pillowcases. If you have any old pillowcases, your students can also use them to molt. Students will 'shed' their skin by slithering out without using their hands! We will mail you the fun supplies! We design each one of our programs to fit your class so we will be emailing you soon!
