Program Description
Bringing Science to Life Through Puppetry and the Arts This dynamic Artist-in-Residence program uses the power of puppetry to spark curiosity and bring the world of science to life for young learners. By blending science with the creative arts, students are immersed in an engaging, hands-on learning experience that integrates literacy, social-emotional development, and health education. Through puppet theater, music, and visual storytelling, children explore the core branches of science, Physical Science, Earth Science, and Health Science in a way that is meaningful and memorable. As they investigate real-world concepts. Students are introduced to the scientific method, learning how to observe, hypothesize, experiment, and reflect. A key component of the program is puppet-making. Each student creates their puppet, which they then use in small group performances to act out science-themed skits. This creative process not only reinforces scientific content but also fosters collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. By integrating the arts into science instruction, this program transforms abstract concepts into interactive, student-centered adventures that inspire wonder, build confidence, and deepen understanding.
