Program Description
Award-winning children's author, Cindy Sommer, is thrilled to share her debut picture book, Saving Kate's Flowers, through Arbordale Publishing. Most beneficial to individual classroom settings, Cindy presents a fun, interactive, and age-appropriate program for Pre-K to Kindergarten students, with direct ties to Common Core Anchor Standards. In addition to reading her book, she encourages children to keep reading, writing and learning. Using props, students will pretend to be seeds and "grow" into a plant with flowers. Discusses how seeds travel and parts of a plant. For groups up to 30, children can re-create a scene from the book using a felt board. For larger groups up to 100, PowerPoint is used so all can enjoy the illustrations. Activities may vary due to time and number of students. Includes Q&A if time allows. Coloring pages are left with the teacher. Maximum 4 classroom sessions per day. A signed copy of her book is given to the school's library. See brochure online at Cindy's website, www.cindysommer.com
