Program Description
Dr. Jamel Coy Hudson is a professor, rhetorician, and community leader whose career bridges the worlds of education, performance, and advocacy. As a dedicated educator in communication and rhetoric, he empowers students to find their voice, build confidence, and lead with integrity. Drawing from his background as an accomplished performer and athlete, Dr. Hudson brings an energetic and dynamic presence that captivates audiences of all ages. In his Taking Down Bullying program, Dr. Hudson integrates powerful lessons on character education, highlighting the enduring values of respect, acceptance, and leadership. His interactive and engaging presentations encourage young people to reflect on their choices, confront the impact of bullying, and embrace the responsibility of shaping a safe and inclusive community. Students are invited to recognize their own talents and strengths, learning that leadership begins with self-respect and extends outward through compassion and courage. With his unique combination of scholarly insight, artistic expression, and motivational delivery, Dr. Hudson helps students see that they are not powerless in the face of peer pressure or negativity. Instead, they are equipped with the tools to stand tall, uplift one another, and create environments where all individuals are valued. The program continues to inspire and challenge young people to use their voices, celebrate diversity, and commit themselves to building communities defined by dignity and mutual respect.
