Program Description
What would make someone choose to hit the reset button on their life? What would it take to go on an outrageous adventure into unknown, unexplored, unimaginable territory? Living Voices virtual options also available. What do we have in common today with the dreamers and risk-takers who traveled through Seattle on their way to the Klondike Gold Rush over 100 years ago? Klondike -The Last Adventure focuses on the story of a woman who becomes a miner during the Klondike Gold Rush of 1897. Although one in ten Klondike gold seekers were women, most of their stories are unknown and untold; stories of women’s involvement in the Gold Rush focus primarily on the showgirls, cooks and prostitutes, rather than the women who mined for gold alongside the men. Illuminating a unique point of view around a well-known part of history is one of the landmarks of a Living Voices show.
