Program Highlights:
Outdoor Butterfly Vivarium: Wander into our enclosed outdoor butterfly garden, a sanctuary where participants can observe these winged wonders in their natural habitat. Witness butterflies in flight, sipping nectar from vibrant blooms, and experience the captivating dance between nature and its inhabitants.
Collaborative Exploration: Students work together to answer thought-provoking questions about butterflies and moths. Through teamwork, critical thinking, and shared insights, students will observe preserved specimens, live specimens, and displays to deepen their understanding of these winged insects.
Live Animals: Students will learn about the intriguing interplay between butterflies and their predators through live animal encounters. Observe predator species that rely on butterflies and moths as a vital part of their diet. From birds to spiders, participants will learn about the intricate balance that exists in nature, where every species plays a crucial role. Students will also meet an insect animal ambassador and discover the distinguishing features that make insects unique in the animal kingdom.
Multilingual Engagement: We offer English-to-Spanish translations for the activity portion of the program if needed. This ensures that all students can fully engage with the content, fostering a diverse and enriching learning experience.
Outdoor vivarium open for students from May-June. Programs scheduled before May will include a garden walk.
