Program Description
A 20-lesson social development and arts-in-education residency program using social dance to build confidence, teamwork, physical skills, and to support academic excellence. ArtBeat LI / CoDanceCo, Inc. is the non-profit licensed Global Network administrative home for the Dancing Classrooms programs on LI. This course introduces students to seven ballroom and Latin dance traditions integrating the history and geography of each dance. The Teaching Artist collaborates with the classroom teacher to create curriculum connections; the teachers participate in every lesson. The residency culminates in performance activities which encourage family member attendance and participation. A minimum of two grade sections or classrooms must be booked. The residency fee per section or class decreases if four or more courses are booked.
