Program Description
Long Island’s history comes alive with this riveting program portraying America during the time of the Fugitive Slave Law. Meet Dorcas, a run-away slave who must navigate the Underground Railroad; the conductor who helps to show the way using secret quilt codes, and the bounty hunter she must avoid. Dorcas perseveres in her struggle for freedom and shows the triumph of the human spirit over cruelty and oppression.
