Program Description
Fascinating Arts-In-Education programs with a unique combination of Visual and Language Arts. Classroom workshops designed to follow Christopher Agostino's StoryFaces assembly programs explore mask design and initiate mask-making projects, with a specific focus on Visual Storytelling. Students take stories or concepts and apply critical thinking to synthesize them into visual imagery, exploring the power of art and stories to convey social information, life lessons and an artist's personal vision. Younger students work on Totem Animal mask concepts. Older students can create Spirit Healing Mask designs - "personal superhero" masks for powerful beings that can help solve world problems. These workshops can generate both student visual art projects and related writing assignments. Special programs available in World Theatre Makeup and on the connection between traditional Masks and Modern Art. Single and multiple day programs available.
