Program Description
This interdisciplinary program is a fun way to integrate science, math, language arts, drama and social studies into an outdoor adventure. Students imagine and role play being shipwrecked and must find elements around the island to help them survive. Students divide into smaller groups to create shelter while learning knot-tying skills, make solar stills to obtain freshwater, identify local potential food sources and learn how to use compasses with the hope of finding their way off Shipwreck Island.
