Live musical performance of rock and roll hits from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Perfect for field day, end-of-school year celebrations, etc. Emphasis on movement and audience participation. Students learn the hand jive ("Boy From NYC"), do pretend surfing ("Surfin' USA") and practice Motown choreography ("Stop! In The Name Of Love").Students observe how rock and roll music is created live by three musicians. Students have opportunity to respond to music physically through directed group audience participation or undirected participation. Dancing is encouraged, if appropriate in performance setting. Excellent choice when structured program not appropriate.
