Program Description
Textile Artist Madona Cole-Lacy engages students in hand-stamping fabric with multicultural woodcut and found objects. Students learn how to organize motifs into patterns on fabric and how to use; authentic multi-ethnic woodcut stamps, commercial stamps and various found objects. Students receive age and grade-appropriate social and cultural enrichment on the art of found objects and woodcut stamps. After receiving instruction on the use of textile paints, each student creates art on a 16” x 16” fabric panel, which can be framed and displayed as wall art. Residency available! A school-wide collaborative residency for a giant wall art installation that reinforces and enhances an understanding of civic and school community engagement is also available. Materials cost included in fees. Inquire about cost quote for a group size larger than the stated maximum.
