Program Description
Immerse yourself in the world of the Kurds of the Middle East with this lively and interactive performance. Entertaining Kurdish folktales from Diane’s book: A Fire In My Heart: Kurdish Tales alternate with colorful slides, music and anecdotes of her time visiting with shepherds in remote villages. Favorite tales include Fatima, the beautiful Kurdish Cinderella story, as well as tales of how the moon and the Milky Way came to be. Traditional dress and dance round out our exploration of this little known culture.
