Program Description
Open up your imaginations with this fun-filled look at our six-legged friends! Diane’s teaching tale, Kate’s Acorn, introduces us to a fast-talking earthworm, a pill bug, and a centipede as we find out about the importance of soil creatures in the life cycle of plants. This creative tale is complemented by Diane’s true stories about her encounters with Monarch Butterflies. Then, in the Irish tale Bee, Mouse, Harp and Bumclock we experience the magic that comes to our lives when we realize just how amazing insects are. Designed to complement student studies on insects. This show inspires even the most reluctant learners to open up their eyes and imaginations. Bugs, bees n' wiggly critters will never be the same again! "It's a pleasure having Diane bring "Insect Comedy" to our school every year. Diane has a gift for capturing the students' attention and getting them involved with chants and movements. Days after the program, the students still enjoy imitating the characters and reciting the chants with one another. The stories are very entertaining, but also connect beautifully to our second grade curriculum on Insects & Plants. "Insect Comedy" is a long-anticipated event towards the end of every school year. - Susan Aurelio - 2nd grade teacher- Cumberland RI
