Program Description
Digging Dinosaurs engages students with descriptive dinosaur information, colorful posters, sign language, and lively interactive stories. Stories include Pattysaurus, Diane’s original tale about a young girl so obsessed with her dinosaur collection that she turns into a gigantic sauropod herself. In the end, Patty has a surprising realization about the value of sharing with others. This fun-filled piece is complemented by Diane’s scientifically based participatory tale: Egg Mountain, based on the true discovery in 1979 of Maiasaura, the first dinosaur known to care for its young. Students become paleontologists, prepare imaginary digging packs and help out on this discovery filled journey. Called a 'virtuoso of the spoken word' and an 'entire cast rolled into one,' Diane has created popular dinosaur adventures that complement scientific facts with imagination, humor and active student participation.
