Program Description
Inspiring the reluctant writer with Peter Catalanotto. Explore an author/illustrator's creative process from inspiration to finished book. Learn how to get ideas from student-friendly strategies; combining everyday life with imagination and how to develop those ideas into stories. Every session includes a drawing where students are shown tips and techniques they'll want to try. Students leave the presentation empowered to write and draw, and educators become more confident teaching narrative writing. Peter is unique in that he tailors his program to the different age levels and can engage kindergartners as well as 6th graders! Peter Catalanotto currently teaches the first children's book writing course offered at Columbia University and Pratt Institute in New York City.
