Developed by Theatre Educator, Dafna Soltes Stein and Educational Psychologist, Cheryl Chitayat Psy.D., Pass-Around Storytelling: The Shared Storytelling Game © integrates story making with Social Emotional learning and literacy goals in listening, speaking, writing and reading. It is play with a purpose. Students are guided to problem solve social emotional conflicts through the choices characters make in the improvisational stories students develop together. This oral storytelling game is supported by Storystarter© playing cards that suggest themes about which to create stories. Think Abouts© define obstacles to be overcome and suggest both good and bad choices that both move the story forward and enable or disable the characters in being successful. Literacy, character education and social skills develop naturally. Stories can be recorded, scripted, performed in a 5 day residency. For more information dafnadafi@gmail.com
